Defensive Handgun 1  - This class is not a basic class. While handgun fundamentals will be reviewed, the shooter should already have a grasp on firearms safety and handgun shooting fundamentals. This class is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to carry a firearm for self defense. This class covers the drawstroke, reloads, malfunction clearance, basic movement, shooting from cover, multiple threats, the mindset to prevail in a violent encounter, situational awareness, physiological response to a violent encounter, criminal behavior, police and witness interaction, and the legal and psychological aftermath of a violent encounter. Duration - 9 hours. Ammo - 300 rounds
